SPRINT RUN PRIVACY POLICY

1. Introduction

Sprint Run ("we," "our," or "us") is a GPS-based running course sharing platform developed by Appbridge. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Sprint Run mobile application (the "App").

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our App worldwide. By using Sprint Run, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our App.

2. Personal Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: Email address, Username, Password (stored in encrypted form)
  • Profile Information: Profile picture (optional), Display name, Running preferences and goals
  • User-Generated Content: Course names and descriptions, Course ratings and reviews, Comments on courses, Running diary entries

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Information: Precise GPS coordinates during active running sessions, Route data including latitude, longitude, altitude, and timestamps, Start and end locations of your runs, Approximate location for displaying nearby courses
  • Device Information: Device type and model, Operating system and version, Unique device identifiers, App version, Language and timezone settings
  • Running and Fitness Data: Distance traveled, Duration of runs, Pace and speed calculations, Calories burned (calculated based on distance), Elevation changes, 100-meter split pace data
  • Usage Information: App interactions and feature usage, Courses viewed and searched, Running history and statistics, Achievement and badge data

2.3 Information from Third-Party Services

  • Google Sign-In: Google account email address, Google account display name, Google account profile picture (if available)
  • Health Connect (Android): Running and workout records from connected apps, Distance data from fitness devices, Heart rate data (if available and permitted), Step count data, Calorie burn data from connected devices

2.4 Payment Information

  • Apple App Store or Google Play Store purchase receipts for subscription verification
  • We do NOT collect or store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other direct payment method information
  • All payment processing is handled by Apple/Google

3. How We Collect Your Information

3.1 Direct Collection

We collect information directly from you when you:

  • Create an account or sign in
  • Complete or update your profile
  • Start and complete running sessions
  • Rate or comment on courses
  • Customize course names
  • Write diary entries
  • Purchase subscriptions
  • Contact us for support

3.2 Automatic Collection

We automatically collect information when you:

  • Use GPS tracking during runs (with your permission)
  • Browse courses and use search features
  • Interact with the app interface
  • Sync data between your device and our servers

3.3 Third-Party Collection

We receive information from third parties when you:

  • Sign in using Google authentication
  • Connect Health Connect to import fitness data
  • Grant permissions to access device health repositories

4. How and Why We Use Your Information

4.1 To Provide Core App Functionality

  • GPS Tracking: Record your running routes in real-time
  • AI Shadow: Analyze your running data to create virtual pacemakers based on your past performance
  • Course Generation: Automatically create running courses based on your completed runs
  • Statistics Calculation: Calculate and display your running statistics, personal records, and achievements
  • Course Discovery: Show you nearby courses, popular routes, and personalized recommendations

4.2 To Improve Your Experience

  • Personalize course recommendations based on your running history
  • Calculate accurate distance and pace using GPS data
  • Provide voice announcements during runs
  • Generate achievements and badges based on your activities

4.3 To Process Subscriptions

  • Verify purchase receipts with Apple/Google
  • Manage subscription status (Pro/Free)
  • Provide access to premium features (AI Shadow modes, ad-free experience)

4.4 To Maintain and Improve the App

  • Diagnose technical issues and bugs
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve features
  • Ensure app security and prevent fraud

4.5 To Communicate With You

  • Send running reminders and notifications (if enabled)
  • Notify you of important app updates
  • Respond to support requests

5. Location Information

5.1 Types of Location Data We Collect

Precise Location (GPS): We collect precise GPS coordinates during active running sessions. GPS data is collected at regular intervals while tracking is active. This data is used to map your running route, calculate distance, and generate courses.

Approximate Location: We may derive your general location from your IP address for displaying nearby courses.

5.2 When We Collect Location Data

  • During Active Runs Only: Precise GPS tracking only occurs when you actively start a running session
  • Foreground Service: GPS tracking continues when the app is in the background during an active run
  • Not Collected When Idle: We do not track your location when you are not actively running

5.3 Location Data Sharing

  • Public Course Data: When a course is created from your run, the route geometry may be visible to other users. Your identity is not disclosed unless you are the course owner.
  • No Third-Party Location Sharing: We do not sell or share your precise location data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

5.4 Your Location Choices

You can disable GPS tracking by not granting location permissions. You can stop an active run at any time. You can request deletion of your running history. Note: Disabling location access will prevent core app functionality.

6. Health and Fitness Information

6.1 Fitness Data We Collect

Directly Through the App: Running duration, distance, pace, estimated calories, elevation.

Through Health Connect (Optional): Workout records from other fitness apps, distance from smartwatches, heart rate, step count, calories.

6.2 How Health Data Is Used

Display comprehensive running statistics, import running history from other apps, calculate metrics, track progress, generate achievements.

6.3 Health Data Protection

Health and fitness data is stored securely and encrypted. We do not share your health data with third-party advertisers. We do not sell your fitness information.

7. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7.1 Public Course Information

  • Course routes and statistics are visible to all users
  • Course owner username is displayed publicly
  • Your individual run data on a course is not publicly disclosed

7.2 Service Providers

  • MongoDB Atlas: Database hosting
  • Google Cloud: Authentication, Maps
  • Google AdMob: Advertising (device ID, ad interactions)
  • Apple/Google: Subscription payment verification

7.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law.

8. Data Storage and Security

Cloud Database: MongoDB Atlas. Local Storage: Hive database on your device. Secure Storage: Sensitive data stored in encrypted device storage.

Security Measures:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure password hashing
  • JWT token-based authentication
  • Encrypted local storage

9. Data Retention

Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

Running Data: Retained as long as you maintain your account. You can delete individual runs at any time.

Course Data: Courses may persist even after account deletion as community content.

10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal information.
  • Correction: Update your profile information.
  • Deletion: Delete your account and associated data.
  • Opt-Out: Disable notifications, disconnect Health Connect, disable location tracking.

11. Children’s Privacy

Sprint Run is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence through MongoDB Atlas.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email.
